What is the Histology Primer and what is it not? It is not the replacement for a histology course and it is not a histology text. Rather it is a review of the highlights of histology basics. If you are a histology expert, you likely do not need to use this primer, but are welcome to explore. If your histology experience in medical school was not optimal, this primer is presented to strengthen your foundation in histology, particularly if you are embarking on a career in Pathology, wherein both normal and diseased tissues must be readily recognized.
